Celeste Martínez is a marketing and communications professional who has been helping brands build meaningful relationships with their customers through point-of-purchase marketing for more than a decade. As founder of Buzzworthy Creations, she brings her experience in marketing and sales to provide customers with solutions to influence customers to choose a specific brand at the point-of-purchase, online through social media and offline through promotional materials. Her fresh approach and uniqueness in providing opportunities to influence shoppers at the point of purchase have made her a marketing expert.
With more than 15 years of experience in product marketing, shopper marketing, sales promotion, and advertising, Celeste uses her network of providers to come up with optimal solutions to influence the purchasing decision process, thus helping clients meet their campaign objectives. She began her career in marketing in 1996, when she worked in shopping center management at two of the most important shopping centers in Puerto Rico. Later, in 2004, she began to work in the consumer goods industry, where she discovered a business opportunity to become one supplier offering the key components of promotional items, including promotional products, retail displays, pop materials, and now social media. This is what inspired her to open her own business, Buzzworthy Creations, and provide marketing executives with a one-stop solution. She is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Mass Communication with specialization on social media at the University of Florida.
Before launching Buzzworthy Creations, Celeste worked as Junior Product Manager at The Gillette Company, where she developed and executed national consumer promotions at Wal-Mart and Sam’s for brands like Duracell, Oral-B, and Mach3, and was responsible for product launches, including Good News Ultra Grip. In 2011, she co-founded Masafina Pizza, Beer & Wine, where she was responsible for the daily operation of the business, as well as all social media and public relations management. Masafina won an award for Sal!’s Visa Dining Program, recognizing the effort from the servers of promoting the program at the restaurant, and the restaurant for doing the same online on social media.
Celeste’s passion is to help others. She has collaborated as volunteer with non-profit organizations like the Red Cross. After Katrina hit New Orleans, she spent one week volunteering at the St. Bernard Project, helping with the mission of rebuilding houses. Also, she helped raise awareness about human trafficking by participating in Ricky Martin Foundation’s Rappelling Desafio event in San Juan. Celeste is also an active member of Kiva, by lending money via the Internet to low-income / underserved entrepreneurs and students in over 70 countries.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling and food, mostly going out to try new restaurants. “I find it fascinating to be able to discover new flavors and pair food with wine.” At home, she has two beautiful dogs, Eco and FIFA (named after the 2010 World Cup).
